Manchester United are “ready to pounce” and sign Gareth Bale if Real Madrid make him available this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is claiming that the Red Devils are still keen on trying to land the 28-year-old Wales superstar this summer.

However, Bale’s future at Real Madrid has been called into doubt this summer as the Spanish side continue to be linked with a bid to sign Kylian Mbappe in a world-record transfer deal, according to the same story.

And the same story claims that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted that he may not be able to keep Bale at the club beyond the summer.

The article says that Manchester United are on the lookout for a new wide player this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second season in charge at the club.

The story also quotes Mourinho as having told Bale after a pre-season friendly in the US last week: “I can’t buy you because you don’t talk to me!”

Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer, with the Red Devils having only signed Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku so far.
