Manchester United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Ivan Perisic, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Sky Sports News reporter took to Twitter on Thursday night to claim that Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti had dropped a “strong” hint that the Croatian winger could be heading to Old Trafford this summer.
According to the update, Spalletti conceded that Inter will have to take the player’s situation into consideration when thinking about his future as he continues to be linked with Manchester United.
Solhekol wrote on Twitter: “Spalletti gives strong hint Perisic wants to join Man United: ‘I want to keep him but we must consider the opinion of the club and player’.”
Manchester United have been regularly linked with a move to sign Perisic this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second season in charge at the club.
However, the Red Devils are yet to reach an official agreement with the Italian club as Manchester United search for their third summer signing.
Mourinho’s side have so far only brought in two new players this summer – defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica and striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
The Red Devils are gearing up for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the Europa League last term.
