Ander Herrera is set to sign a new four-year contract worth £200,000 a week with Manchester United, according to reports.

The Daily Star is reporting that the Spanish midfielder is set to put pen to paper on a lucrative new contract as he commits his future to the Red Devils.

The Spaniard has one year left on his current deal but looks set to stay at Old Trafford and commit his future to Jose Mourinho’s side.

The same report states that Herrera’s deal is set to be worth around £41.6m to him over four years as he looks to place himself as one of the highest-earners at the club.

Herrera earned plenty of praise for his performances for Manchester United under Mourinho last season as he helped the Red Devils win the EFL Cup and Europa League in the Portuguese coach’s first campaign in charge.

It is also claimed in the same story that Herrera will end up captaining Manchester United for most of the campaign, with official skipper Michael Carrick set to see his playing time limited.
