Jose Mourinho wants to bring a midfielder and a winger to Manchester United before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have inevitably been linked with a host of players this summer as they look strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

However, despite all of the speculation, Manchester United have so far only concluded deals to sign defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku.

Mourinho will be likely to be keen to further bolster his squad as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next term.

And the Portuguese coach has revealed the two key positions he would still like to strengthen ahead of his second season in charge at the club.

Speaking at a news conference in the US on Tuesday night, Mourinho said: “If my club is not able to do two players and do just one, I will accept that as the consequence of the market now.

“One player would be a midfield player to give me more options, more balance to the team and our needs.

“Another one, an attacking player, especially who can play through the wings to give me also more attacking options.”

Manchester United secured their return to the Champions League next season after they beat Ajax 2-0 in the Europa League final back in May.

Mourinho also led the Red Devils to EFL Cup glory last season in his first campaign in charge.
