The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Chelsea owner is ready to let the Serbian midfielder leave Stamford Bridge to join their Premier League rivals after the Blues wrapped up the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco last weekend.
Matic’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer and he has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
The same report claims that the Red Devils have already had a £35m bid for Matic turned down by Chelsea but the Blues owner is now ready to let him leave following the arrival of Bakayoko.
The story says that Manchester United are now “closing in” on the signing of Matic as they look for their third recruit of the summer window.
The Red Devils have already brought in two new signings this summer – defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica and striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
