Manchester United are poised to make a move to try and sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer if he becomes available, according to reports in the British media.

ESPN is reporting that the Red Devils are keeping tabs on the Wales international’s situation at The Bernabeu as Jose Mourinho continues to look to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

The 28-year-old will be no stranger to the speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United, as Bale was touted as a target for the Red Devils before he eventually ended up signing for Real Madrid from Tottenham back in 2013.

Now, the same article claims that Manchester United could make a move to try and bring him to Old Trafford this summer if he is made available by the Spanish club.

The report goes on to state that Manchester United have held an interest in signing Bale for almost a decade as they have kept tabs on his development over the years.

The story says that Manchester United’s stance is the same as usual – they are interested in the world’s best players if they become available, and it is said to be a similar situation with Cristiano Ronaldo.
