Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli has been taken on trial at Manchester United as he looks to secure a move to the Red Devils, according to reports in the British media.

The Manchester Evening News is claiming that the highly-rated 16-year-old has begun training with the Red Devils as he looks to seal a move to the Premier League club.

The teenager currently plays for Brazilian side Ituano and came on as a substitute in Manchester United’s youth XI win over Lincoln under-18s at Sincil Bank last week.

The same article also claims that Martinelli was seen arriving on the coach with the rest of the squad for the game last Wednesday night.

At first-team level, Jose Mourinho is still thought to be keen to further bolster his squad this summer as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.

The Red Devils have so far only signed defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku as Mourinho gears up for his second season at the club.

Mourinho led Manchester United to EFL Cup and Europa League glory last season.
