Insider gives latest update on Man United’s bid to make 28-year-old their third signing
Dharmesh Sheth says Manchester United remain interested in signing winger Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer
Manchester United remain interested in signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan and a bid of £48m could tempt the Italian club into selling, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports News reporter has given the latest update on the speculation linking the Red Devils with a swoop to try and bring the winger to Old Trafford this summer.
Sheth quotes Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti as having given an indication that the Italian club could be open to selling the 28-year-old this summer.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Friday morning, Sheth said:
“Manchester United and their hopes of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan – have they improved?
“Well, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti wants the player to remain but gave an indication that Perisic wants to move to Old Trafford.
“It’s thought that an offer of around £48m would tempt Inter Milan into selling Perisic to Manchester United.”
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for at least two other new signings this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second full season in charge at the club.
The Red Devils have signed just defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku so far this summer.
Mourinho is gearing his team up for a return to the Champions League next season after the Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League but won the Europa League last term.
