Steve Nicol believes that Ivan Perisic would be a top signing for Manchester United this summer.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a bid to bring the Inter Milan winger to Old Trafford in recent weeks as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season.

However, despite all of the speculation, the Red Devils are yet to tie up a deal to land the Croatian winger.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to complete a deal to sign Perisic from Inter Milan before the end of the summer transfer window.

However, former Liverpool man Nicol clearly feels that Perisic would be a great signing for the Red Devils this summer.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Nicol said: “[Perisic is a] good player though.

“I think he’s a good player yeah. He probably wasn’t ready when he was young to go to a Manchester United.

“But at 27, 28 it could be ideal. (The) perfect age.”

Manchester United completed their second signing of the summer last Monday when they tied up a deal to land striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

That move came after Manchester United signed defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica last month.
