Manchester United remain interested in signing Nemanja Matic from Chelsea this summer, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports News reporter has claimed that the Red Devils are still hoping to tempt the Blues into selling the 28-year-old midfielder to them this summer.

Matic’s future has been a constant source of speculation this summer and he has regularly been touted as a possible target for the Red Devils.

The Serb’s future at Stamford Bridge has been thrown into further doubt after Chelsea confirmed the signing of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on Saturday.

Now, Sheth has revealed that Manchester United remain keen on signing Matic this summer, and that the midfielder is set to miss Chelsea’s pre-season tour of China.

Speaking on Sky Sports News on Tuesday morning, Sheth said: “Manchester United remain interested in Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, as do Juventus. The Serb is missing Chelsea’s pre-season tour.”

Manchester United confirmed their second signing of the summer last week when they tied up a deal to land striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

The Red Devils are looking to add some more depth to their squad as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
