Victor Lindelof admits that he is thrilled to be working under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

The Swedish defender became Manchester United’s first signing of the summer last month when Mourinho moved quickly to bring him in from Benfica.

Lindelof is widely expected to partner Eric Bailly in the centre of a new-look defence at Manchester United next season.

And the Sweden international has revealed just how happy he is to be lining up for Mourinho at Manchester United next season.

Speaking in an interview with the Manchester Evening News: “It has been good. All the lads in the team are helping a lot, so I am settling in quite good.

“It’s just been a week since we started training and played some games. It has been alright – I’m getting into it better and better every day.

“(Mourinho) is a very good manager. I like him a lot.

“He helped the players a lot when you speak to them, so I think I am going to develop a lot under him.”

Manchester United are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the Europa League last term.

The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League but won the EFL Cup and Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.

Mourinho will be hoping to steer Manchester United to their first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired back in 2013 next season.
