Matteo Darmian has insisted that he is happy at Manchester United despite the speculation linking him with a transfer away from Old Trafford this summer.

Darmian signed for the Red Devils from Italian side Torino two years ago but he has been linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer, with Juventus said to be keen on bringing him back to Italy.

The 27-year-old struggled to hold down a regular spot in Jose Mourinho’s first team last season, which fuelled the speculation that he could be set to leave the club this summer.

However, the player himself has now insisted that he does not have any plans to quit Manchester United this summer and that he is happy at Old Trafford.

Darmian is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: “Every time I read something about my future… but (there is) nothing news (wise).

“I am happy here. I think also it is a part of our work, these kind of rumours. Like I said before, I am happy here so nothing news (wise). I am a Manchester United player – that’s it.”

Manchester United are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they finished sixth in the Premier League but won the Europa League last term.

The Red Devils have made two signings so far this summer – defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku.
