Jose Mourinho reveals Man United’s remaining summer transfer plans
Jose Mourinho delivers the latest update on Manchester United's transfer plans ahead of next season
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he fully trusts Ed Woodward to complete the signing Manchester United need before the end of the summer.
The Red Devils have inevitably been linked with a host of Europe’s top talents this summer, but they have only signed defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku so far.
Mourinho is thought to be on the lookout for at least two more signings this summer as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season and also looks to steer them to a title challenge.
The Portuguese coach has revealed that executive vice-chairman Woodward knows exactly which players he wants to sign this summer and now he is simply awaiting news from the Manchester United chief.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “I don’t know what will happen, honestly.
“Ed is in control, he did Lindelof and Lukaku and he knows that I would like two more players.
“But he also knows that I have balance, I depend on the situation, the market, and if my club is unable to do two players and just one, I accept that as a consequence of the market now.
“Our relationship is good and I just wait for good news, and good news is to have the players, maybe just the one player as soon as possible because to work together with the team is really important.
“But I’m calm, I like my players, I like my squad, I trust them, so I’m calm and that’s important.”
Manchester United are looking to make their mark on the Premier League next season after the Red Devils finished in a disappointing sixth place last term.
The Red Devils will also be hoping to challenge for the Champions League after winning the Europa League last season.
