Reporter confirms Man United have bid £40m for top England star
Sky Sports News HQ presenter Jim White confirms Manchester United have made an offer for Tottenham Hotspur star Eric Dier
Manchester United have submitted a £40m offer to sign Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Jim White.
The Sky Sports News HQ presenter has taken to Twitter to shed light on Manchester United’s pursuit of Tottenham star Dier.
According to White’s sources close to the England international, the Red Devils have lodged a £40m offer to sign the 23-year-old.
However, The Guardian reported on Saturday that Tottenham are unlikely to sell the key midfielder given his ability to play in a number of different positions for Mauricio Pochettino.
White, who has earned cult status for his coverage of transfer deadline day on Sky Sports News HQ, had some breaking news for Manchester United and Tottenham fans on Twitter.
The journalist wrote on his Twitter page: “Source close to player says @ManUtd have bid £40million for @SpursOfficial’s Eric Dier.”
Manchester United have already signed Sweden international Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica this summer.
The Red Devils spent £75m on Everton striker Romelu Lukaku to bolster their attack ahead of a return to the Champions League next term.
The 20-time English champions won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in their first season under Jose Mourinho.
