Man United turn to 25-year-old attacker as Ivan Perisic alternative – report
Manchester United have already made contact with Emil Forsberg with a view to signing the RB Leipzig forward, according to reports
Manchester United have given up on signing Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic and are set to target RB Leipzig forward Emil Forsberg, according to reports in Italy.
Italian website Calciomercato is reporting that the Red Devils have grown impatient in the race to sign the Croatia winger from Inter Milan due to the Italian club’s excessive transfer demands.
The same article reveals that Manchester United are now prepared to look at the possibility of signing Sweden international Forsberg from the Bundesliga club.
According to the Italian media outlet, the Red Devils have already reached out to the 25-year-old representatives about a potential transfer deal.
Forsberg played a key role in helping RB Leipzig to finish in second place behind Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich last term.
The Swedish striker scored eight goals and made 19 assists in 30 appearances in the German top flight in the 2016-17 campaign.
Manchester United signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica last month.
The Red Devils have also managed to beat Chelsea to the signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku earlier in July.
