Man United fail with third bid worth close to £40m for Premier League star – report
Manchester United have another bid worth around £40m rejected for Tottenham Hotspur star Eric Dier, according to reports
Manchester United are growing increasingly frustrated in their pursuit of Eric Dier after Tottenham Hotspur rejected a third offer worth around £40m for the defensive midfielder, according to reports in England.
The Guardian is reporting that the Red Devils made a third offer for the England international after Spurs rejected bids of £25m and £30m for Dier earlier this summer.
The same story goes on to reveal that the England star has remained committed to the north London side and manager Mauricio Pochettino is pleased with the 23-year-old’s efforts in pre-season training.
Manchester United have already signed one top player for a big Premier League rival this season after the Red Devils signed Romelu Lukaku in a £75m deal from Everton earlier this month.
Jose Mourinho has also recruited Sweden international Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica to bolster his defensive options.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season but won the EFL Cup and the Europa League to enjoy a largely positive first season under Mourinho.
The Red Devils were 2-0 winners against Ajax in the Europa League final to secure a return to the Champions League.
