Gareth Bale’s agent has blasted “ridiculous” speculation suggesting the Real Madrid forward could move to Manchester United this summer.

The Wales international’s future has been a topic of debate in recent weeks as Real Madrid continue to pursue AS Monaco’s teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe.

Bale has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United should los Blancos complete a touted world-record deal to sign the 18-year-old forward.

Manchester United have been regularly linked with a move to sign the 28-year-old in recent seasons but a deal has failed to materialise.

However, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has moved to quash speculation linking the Wales international with a move away from Real Madrid this summer.

“It’s a ridiculous, stupid story,” Barnett told BBC Sport.

Manchester United have signed two players in the summer transfer window so far as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.

The Red Devils have added Swedish defender Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica last month to improve their defensive options.

Manchester United managed to beat bitter rivals Chelsea to the signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku earlier this month.
