Manchester United are involved in ongoing talks about a deal to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic this summer, according to reports in England.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the 20-time English champions are still planning a transfer move for the Croatia international this summer.

The same article states that Perisic is one of five targets as Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho looks to bring in a defensive midfielder.

Perisic has been heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford throughout the summer transfer window so far, although Inter Milan have refused to budge on their valuation of the 28-year-old winger.

The Croatian scored 11 goals and made five assists in 36 appearances in Serie A last season as the Manchester United boss looks to add width to his team next term.

The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table but still qualified for the Champions League thanks to a 2-0 victory over Dutch giants Ajax in the Europa League final.

Manchester United won the EFL Cup thanks to a 2-0 victory over Southampton in February.
