Man United eye £60m deal for top 24-year-old but don’t want to lose Martial – report
Manchester United want to sign PSG midfielder Marco Verratti but aren't prepared to lose Anthony Martial, according to reports
Manchester United have entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, according to reports in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils are interested in signing the Italy international from the Ligue 1 giants this summer.
However, PSG are thought to be demanding France striker Anthony Martial as part of any deal that would see Verratti head to Old Trafford.
According to the same article, Manchester United would be reluctant to allow the 21-year-old to leave the Premier League club ahead of the 2017-18 season.
The Red Devils are thought to be looking at Verratti as a possible option to bolster their defensive midfield options after being frustrated in their attempts to sign Eric Dier and Nemanja Matic.
Chelsea are rumoured to be holding out for a deal worth £50m for the Serbia international despite the defensive midfielder turning 29 later this year.
Manchester United have signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window so far.
The Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in their first season under Jose Mourinho.
