Journalist suggests 24-year-old’s agent could influence Man United deal
Independent reporter Miguel Delaney highlights the role Marco Verratti's agent Mino Raiola has played in previous Man United transfer deals
Marco Verratti’s agent Mino Raiola could make a move to Manchester United more likely, Miguel Delaney has hinted.
The Italy international has been linked with a move to La Liga giants Barcelona in recent weeks as Verratti looks to secure a summer move.
Reports in the English media have linked Manchester United with a surprise move to sign the 24-year-old in the current transfer window.
Verratti appointed Raiola as his agent earlier this summer with the Italian midfielder’s future up in the air at the Ligue 1 giants.
Manchester United deal with the outspoken agent last summer when the Red Devils signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba.
Raiola’s client Romelu Lukaku completed a £75m move to Manchester United from Premier League rivals Everton earlier this month.
Speaking to the Second Captains podcast about Verratti’s future at PSG, Independent reporter Delaney appeared to hint Raiola’s involvement could be a boost for Manchester United.
“If you want the situation forced, which Verratti clearly does, Raiola is very good at this,” Delaney said.
“Verratti really does want to leave Paris. He wants to go to Barcelona – but he would be interested in a move elsewhere.
“Raiola has significant links and has done noticeable business with certain clubs – particularly Manchester United.”
Verratti has won four Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de Frances and four Coupe de la Ligue during his five-year stay at the Paris club.
