Manager sends message to Man United about signing top 28-year-old
Luciano Spalletti hints that Ivan Perisic could be sold by Inter Milan this summer but only for the right price
Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has told Manchester United that Ivan Perisic could be sold this summer – but only for the right price.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a bid to bring the 28-year-old winger to Old Trafford for much of the summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season.
However, despite all of the speculation, there is yet to be any official confirmation of a move as Manchester United try and clinch their third signing of the summer.
Inter Milan manager Spalletti admits that he would rather keep hold of the Croatian winger this summer but suggested that the Italian club would listen to offers if the right bid arrived.
Spalletti is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: “He’s an important player in the team and we’re counting on him to start the new season.
“Sure, there were rumours, but the status quo is that we want to keep Perisic.
“Having said that, if someone comes in with a very difficult offer to reject, then we’ll consider that. But, of course, we’ll need to find a valid alternative for Perisic as well.“
Manchester United have been linked with a whole host of players so far this summer, but the Red Devils have so far only recruited defender Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Red Devils are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after Mourinho led them to the Europa League title last term.
