Man United made offer in May for midfielder also linked with Chelsea – report
Manchester United have made two approaches to sign AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, say reports
Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to reports in the English media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Premier League champions failed with a number of offers to sign the Belgium international in 2016 as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his squad.
The same article states that Manchester United submitted a bid in February before making a fresh attempt to sign the 29-year-old in May as Jose Mourinho looked to add the versatile midfielder to his team.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to sign Chelsea star Nemanja Matic this summer, although the Blues are thought to be reluctant to sell the defensive midfielder to Manchester United after their rivals hijacked a deal for Romelu Lukaku.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United could turn to Nainggolan, although AS Roma have scheduled talks with the dynamic midfielder to secure his long-term future.
Manchester United have signed Sweden international Victor Lindelof and Lukaku in deals worth in excess of £105m so far this summer.
Chelsea, on the other hand, spent £34m on AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger after signing Manchester City reserve goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer.
