Reporter insists Man United unlikely to sign exciting 29-year-old this summer
Kaveh Solhekol has all but ruled out Manchester United signing AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan this summer
Manchester United are unlikely to sign to AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan this summer, Kaveh Solhekol has claimed.
The Belgium international has been listed as a potential target to bolster Manchester United’s midfield ahead of the 2017-18 Premier League season.
The Red Devils have been left frustrated in their pursuit of Chelsea star Nemanja Matic and Tottenham Hotspur’s England international Eric Dier.
Jose Mourinho could be forced to look at other potential midfield reinforcements and Nainggolan has been suggested as a potential alternative.
The 29-year-old has established a reputation as an entertaining box-to-box midfielder during a four-season stay in the Italian capital.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol is tipping Nainggolan to sign a new contract with the Serie A side this summer despite reports linking the dynamic midfielder with a move to Manchester United.
“Another midfielder to be linked with Manchester United is Radja Nainggolan,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News on Monday morning.
“We reported in May that talks had been held about signing him. But at the moment, he’s much more likely to sign a new contract at Roma.”
Nainggolan scored 11 times and made five assists in 37 appearances in Serie A last season to help AS Roma finish behind Juventus in the title race.
Manchester United have signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica this summer.
The Red Devils have also added Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku to their squad after his £75m switch from Everton.
