Nemanja Matic remains keen on a transfer to Manchester United this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Serbian midfielder still wants to secure a move to Old Trafford and link up with former manager Jose Mourinho at the club.

The same report states that Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, which would pave the way for Matic to move to Manchester United.

Matic enjoyed a successful stint under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge and helped the west London club win the Premier League and EFL Cup in the 2014-15 campaign.

It remains to be seen, however, whether Chelsea would be willing to sell the 28-year-old midfielder to a direct Premier League rival this summer.

Manchester United confirmed their second signing of the summer on Monday when they announced the capture of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian forward arrives at Old Trafford after defender Victor Lindelof signed for the Red Devils early last month.
