Romelu Lukaku has expressed his delight at joining the Manchester United family.

The Belgium international confirmed his summer transfer to Manchester United on Instagram on Monday evening following months of speculation linking Lukaku with a move away from Everton.

Premier League champions Chelsea were thought to be leading the race to sign the 24-year-old centre-forward in the summer transfer window as Manchester United eyed up Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

However, the Red Devils stole a march on their rivals last week after agreeing a £75m deal with Everton sign the Premier League’s second-highest goal-scorer in the 2016-17 campaign.

Lukaku has been holidaying in Los Angeles with Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba and the pair trained together ahead of his move being confirmed last week.

Indeed, the Belgian forward has been regularly giving fans a glimpse into his temporary pad in LA on Instagram and now the striker has posted a photo of himself in a Manchester United shirt for the first time.

Lukaku posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote:

“I want to thank God for this opportunity! Blessed and delighted to be part of the best football club in the world! @manchesterunited”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season.
