The Evening Standard is reporting that the Chile international could be set to make a swift return to the Arsenal team, after having only reported back to the club for training on Tuesday.
Sanchez was given an extended summer break after his involvement in the Confederations Cup with Chile and was pictured training at London Colney on Tuesday.
Now, the Evening Standard is reporting that Arsenal will assess Sanchez’s fitness levels in the coming days before making a decision about whether to include him in the squad for the clash with Chelsea.
Sanchez’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer as he continues to be linked with a possible transfer away from the club.
The 28-year-old has one year left on his current deal and appears not to be close to signing a new contract with the north London side.
Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League last term but beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.
