Piers Morgan reacts to Arsenal’s 4-3 win over Leicester on Twitter
The Arsenal shareholder takes to Twitter as the Gunners beat Leicester 4-3 in a stunning Premier League opener at The Emirates
Piers Morgan went through range of emotions on Friday night as Arsenal came from behind twice to win 4-3 against Leicester City.
The Gunners were looking to make a positive start to the 2017-18 Premier League campaign after the disappointment of a fifth-placed finish last term.
Arsenal signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a club-record £52m deal and Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Schalke 04.
And the France international broke the deadlock inside two minutes with a close-range header to hand Arsenal the perfect start at The Emirates.
However, Leicester midfielder Shinji Okazaki levelled four minutes later with a header before Jamie Vardy edged the visitors into a 29th-minute lead.
Danny Welbeck equalised on the stroke of half-time before Vardy restored Leicester’s lead with a superb header from a set-piece to heap misery on the hosts.
But Arsenal fought back thanks to Aaron Ramsey’s clinical equaliser before substitute Olivier Giroud guided a header past Kasper Schmeichel with four minutes remaining.
And Morgan posted a series of tweets throughout the Premier League clash as Arsenal emerged with three points from an incredible opener in north London.
Morgan posted on Twitter:
“‘Be positive, Piers’
‘Stop the negativity, Piers’
‘Back the team, Piers’
‘Wenger knows, Piers’
However, the outspoken Arsenal shareholder’s mood changed after Ramsey’s leveller and Giroud’s sensational winner.
“3-3. Leicester’s defence matching us fiasco for fiasco. #AFCvLCFC”
“4-3!!!!!!!!! This is an insane game of football. #AFCvLCFC”
