Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Olivier Giroud after the striker scored Arsenal’s last-gasp winner in their thrilling 4-3 win over Leicester City at The Emirates on Friday night.
The French striker came off the bench to net the final goal in what was a thrilling game at The Emirates and give all three points to Arsene Wenger’s men.
Speaking after the goal on Sky Sports, Carragher said: “He’s one of the most underrated players in the Premier League for me, Giroud.
“He gets away and uses his strength. What a header! Again we see the [goal-line] technology coming into play.
“What a fantastic header that is from Olivier Giroud. How vital could that goal be?”
Arsenal took the lead early on when new signing Alexandre Lacazette headed home from close range.
But Shinji Okazaki levelled shortly after and Jamie Vardy then struck to make it 2-1 to the visitors.
Danny Welbeck equalised on the stroke of half-time but Vardy struck again to make it 3-2 to the visitors.
However, substitute Aaron Ramsey equalised again for Arsenal to make it 3-3, before Giroud headed home to secure the three points after a thrilling game at The Emirates.
Arsenal will now look to recover and prepare for their next Premier League game – a trip to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
The north London side finished fifth in the Premier League table last season.
