Alexis Sanchez took part in his first Arsenal training session ahead of the new season after returning to London on Tuesday.

The Chile international was pictured working on his fitness away from the rest of the first team at London Colney after he returned to the UK on Tuesday morning.

Sanchez’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer after both he and Mesut Ozil entered into the final 12 months of their contracts at The Emirates.

The 28-year-old has been touted as a possible target for the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain this summer but he appeared to be very much focused on Arsenal affairs on Tuesday.

Sanchez will be looking to step up his training in the coming days as he prepares himself for the new campaign.

His team-mates, meanwhile, trained together as they begin their final preparations for the Community Shield clash against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal fans will be hoping to see Sanchez line up for the Gunners next season, although we feel we haven’t quite heard the end of this long running transfer saga.

Here are some of the best pictures from today’s Arsenal training session at London Colney.
