Ian Wright opens up about new Arsenal signing: ‘He looks brilliant’
Ian Wright says he has been very impressed by what he's seen from new Arsenal signing Sead Kolasinac so far
Ian Wright has heaped praise on Arsenal’s signing of Sead Kolasinac this summer.
The Bosnian defender became the north London side’s first recruit of the summer window when he joined the Gunners on a free transfer from Schalke.
The left-back made his competitive debut for the north London side when he came on as a first-half substitute in Sunday’s Community Shield clash with Chelsea at Wembley.
Kolasinac scored Arsenal’s equaliser with a strong header in the second half to force a penalty shootout, which the Gunners won.
The defender has made a positive impact since his arrival at The Emirates and Wright has admitted that he is a huge admirer of the Bosnian.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live on Monday night, Wright said: “He looks robust. He looks strong. He is somebody in that [back] three who looks very strong.
“He can get in the opposing box and scores. You look at that signing and think ‘brilliant’.”
Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League opener against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Friday night as they look to get their season off to a winning start.
The north London side will be hoping to significantly improve their form next season after their disappointing fifth-placed finish in the Premier League table last term.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season.
