Michael Owen is tipping Arsenal to miss out on a top-four finish once again this season.

The Gunners will have to settle for just Europa League football this season after they ended up in fifth place in the table last term.

Arsenal struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League last season as they were forced to settle for a fifth-placed finish.

However, Arsene Wenger’s men did manage to end the season on a high by beating Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.

Arsenal have signed two players so far this summer as the Gunners prepare for the 2017-18 campaign – Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.

But Owen is tipping the north London side to miss out on a place in the top four next season.

Asked which teams he think will miss out on the top four this season, Owen told the Premier League’s official website: “Arsenal should be concerned that a bad start to the season will have a negative impact.

“The signing of Alexandre Lacazette has been a positive, but they will need to keep hold of Alexis Sanchez to really signal their intent.”

Arsenal are preparing to take on Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday afternoon as they look to try and begin their season with a trophy.

The Gunners have not won the Premier League since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2003-04.
