Thierry Henry opens up about Alexandre Lacazette at Arsenal
Thierry Henry explains why he is such a big fan of new Arsenal signing Alexandre Lacazette
Thierry Henry has revealed that he is a big fan of Alexandre Lacazette after he made his Premier League debut for Arsenal last week.
The French striker, who signed for the Gunners from Lyon back in July, was in impressive form at The Emirates as he netted the opening goal in the 4-3 win over Leicester City on Friday night.
Lacazette scored with a pinpoint header and caused a nuisance in the Leicester City box all night as Arsene Wenger’s men wrapped up a thrilling victory in their opening Premier League game of the season.
And Arsenal legend Henry has explained just why he is such a big fan of the 26-year-old attacker.
Speaking on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, Henry said: “I like him. His overall play is on point.
“Obviously he is going to have to score goals and goals and goals to get the crowd going, but the way he has started is very good for me.
“The most important thing is that he does score goals. Obviously I am going to be biased because he is French and he plays for Arsenal but I like his overall play.
“Very neat, very clean, he does whatever the game is asking him to do.”
Lacazette will be hoping to feature for Arsenal once again when the Gunners take on Stoke City in their next Premier League game at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday evening.
Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2003-04 after the disappointment of their fifth-place finish last term.
The Gunners did win the FA Cup last season though, beating Chelsea 2-1 in the final back in May.
