Arsenal have made a club-record £90m bid to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the north London side have revived their interest in the France international after sanctioning the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool for around £35m.

The same report says that Arsenal still risk losing Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City before the deadline at 23:00 BST.

And Arsenal see Lemar as a possible replacement for Sanchez in a move that would placate fans should the Chilean indeed leave The Emirates on Thursday, according to the same article.

The same story says that Manchester City have returned with a fresh bid of around £60m for Sanchez as they look to tempt the Gunners into selling the 28-year-old before the transfer deadline.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Lemar throughout the summer but Arsene Wenger last week described a potential deal for the 21-year-old as “dead”.

The Gunners have endured a poor start to the new Premier League season, after having lost two of their opening three games to Stoke City and Liverpool.

The north London side return to Premier League action when they take on Bournemouth at The Emirates on Saturday 9 September.
