Arsenal are set to give up in their attempts to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco this summer, according to reports
Arsenal are set to finally give up their interest in signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the north London side have already had two bids for Lemar rejected by the French side this summer.
Arsenal are reported to have tabled offers of more than £40m to try and lure the 21-year-old France international to The Emirates this summer, but Monaco have rejected their approaches.
Now, the same story claims that Monaco are confident that they’ve done enough to keep hold of the attacking midfielder beyond the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign Lemar all summer but a transfer has not materialised.
The north London side have signed two players so far, having tied up deals to land Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette this summer.
Arsenal kicked off their Premier League campaign with a thrilling 4-3 win over Leicester City at The Emirates on Friday night as they got their new season off to a winning start.
The Gunners are now preparing for their trip to Stoke City in the Premier League next Saturday afternoon.
