Arsenal face competition from Liverpool to sign top 21-year-old – report
Arsenal will face competition from Liverpool and two other clubs for the signature of Thomas Lemar, say reports
Arsenal will face competition from Liverpool for the signature of Thomas Lemar this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the north London side are facing competition from a number of clubs for the 21-year-old attacker, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer.
The same story claims that Arsenal have already had three bids for Lemar turned down by Monaco as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates.
The report also states that Barcelona, Manchester City and Liverpool are also tracking the French attacker as the competition for his signature hots up.
The article says that Arsenal boss Wenger is prepared to increase his £50m bid for Lemar, but Monaco are aware that Barcelona would be able to outbid the Gunners.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of different players this summer, but the Gunners have so far only tied up deals for Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.
The Gunners kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Leicester City at The Emirates on Friday night.
The north London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season.
