Arsenal, Tottenham join race to sign highly-rated 18-year-old – report
Arsenal and Tottenham are both interested in signing Oguz Kagan Guctekin from Fenerbahce, say reports
Arsenal and Tottenham have joined Manchester City in the race to sign highly-rated teenager Oguz Kagan Guctekin from Fenerbahce, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that both of the north London clubs are interested in signing the 18-year-old midfielder this summer.
The same report states that Manchester City have already had a bid of around £4.5m for the teenager turned down by the Turkish side as the race for his signature hots up.
Now, both Spurs and Arsenal are thought to be in the race to sign the teenager, who has recently been promoted to the Fenerbahce first team set-up.
The same story says it will take a bigger bid than £4.5m to tempt the Turkish club into selling the midfielder this summer.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for further signings this summer, after having tied up deals for Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac so far.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are also thought to be keen to strengthen their squad, with Spurs having only agreed a deal for Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez until now.
There is bound to be plenty more speculation in the coming days as the summer transfer window hots up before it closes at the end of the month.
