Ray Parlour tells Arsenal supporters how much replacing Alexis Sanchez will cost
The Arsenal legend warns the Gunners it will be very expensive to replace Alexis Sanchez this summer
Ray Parlour has warned Arsenal supporters that it will cost £80m or £90m to replace Alexis Sanchez in the current transfer market.
The Chile international has been linked with a potential summer move after a frustrating 2016-17 campaign for the north London side.
Sanchez has entered the final 12 months of his Arsenal contract but the 28-year-old has refused to sign an extension to his deal – so far.
Serie A holders Juventus, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League champions Chelsea have all been linked with a move to sign Sanchez.
However, Manchester City appears the most likely destination for the South American given his experience of working under Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.
Sanchez missed Arsenal’s 4-3 win against Leicester City in their Premier League opener at The Emirates last week as late goals from Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud sealed three points.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour warned the Gunners that they will have to spend around £90m to replace Sanchez in the summer transfer window.
“How much to replace him in this current market? Sam Clucas from Hull, £20m? Is he in Sanchez’s class?” Parlour told talkSPORT.
“How much would it cost to replace someone like Sanchez. Coutinho standard? So £80m or £90m.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to end up outside the Champions League qualification spots.
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League crown since 2003-04.
