Arsene Wenger insists he knows where Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain stands on his future at Arsenal.
The England international has been linked with a potential summer move to Premier League champions Chelsea in recent weeks.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has 12 months remaining on his current Arsenal deal which throws up the possibility of the midfielder leaving on a free transfer next summer.
The 24-year-old has also been touted as a possible target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer transfer window.
Wenger hasn’t hesitated to use Oxlade-Chamberlain despite the uncertainty about his future after the England international started their 4-3 victory over Leicester City on the opening day of the season.
The Arsenal manager is confident that he is on the same page as Oxlade-Chamberlain regarding the Gunners midfielder’s long-term plans despite the recent transfer speculation.
“Yes [Arsenal will keep Oxlade-Chamberlain no matter what]. I have regular conversations with the players where I tell them where I stand and they know what I want and where I stand on that front,” Wenger told his media conference on Wednesday morning.
Arsenal were 4-3 winners against Leicester in a thrilling opening game of the 2017-18 Premier League season at The Emirates on Friday night.
Substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud scored in the final five minutes to overturn a 3-2 deficit and secure three points.
