Arsenal shouldn’t sign top 25-year-old attacker, insists ex-midfielder
ESPN FC pundit Alejandro Moreno believes Arsenal shouldn't consider a move to sign Real Madrid attacker Isco
Arsenal should look to sign a different type of midfielder and avoid making a move for Real Madrid star Isco, according to ESPN FC expert Alejandro Moreno.
The Spain international is thought to be facing an uncertain future at the Champions League holders amid talk of AS Monaco star Kylian Mbappe moving to The Bernabeu.
Isco was embroiled in a battle with Gareth Bale last season to secure a regular first-team spot in the Real Madrid side as los Blancos won the Champions League and La Liga.
Arsenal was touted as a possible destination for the Spanish playmaker should he decide to leave the Spanish capital earlier this year.
However, former Mexican midfielder Moreno urged Arsenal to forget about signing Isco and instead look to bring in a different type of midfielder.
“Isco is a tremendous player. [But] if you think of Arsenal, that’s the sort of player they have,” Moreno told ESPN FC. “They need something different.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
The Gunners have signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in the summer transfer window so far.
The north London side will compete in the Europa League this term.
