Ian Wright has rubbished Arsenal’s chances of signing Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners are facing a battle to keep two of their big-name players before the close of the summer transfer window at 23:00 BST on Thursday night.

Oxlade-Chamberlain appears to have his pick between Arsenal’s title rivals Chelsea and Liverpool after the midfielder entered the final 12 months of his current Gunners contract.

Manchester City have been regularly linked with a move to sign Chile international Alexis Sanchez in the current transfer window with the 28-year-old set to be available for free next summer.

Arsenal will surely look to bring in some new faces should two of their key players leave before Thursday’s deadline in what promises to be an interesting deadline day at The Emirates.

Germany international Draxler has been linked as one potential signing for Arsenal after Neymar’s £198m world-record move to Barcelona pushed the 23-year-old down the pecking order.

The former Schalke 04 and Wolfsburg forward has been regularly linked with a move to Arsenal over the past three or four seasons.

However, Gunners legend Wright questioned why Draxler would consider a potential transfer to the north London club given the current turmoil at Arsenal.

“People talk about Oxlade-Chamberlain going opening the door to Draxler coming? Why would he come?!” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live on Monday night.
