Journalist: Arsenal won’t sign top 22-year-old attacker
Arsenal won't sign Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling this summer, according to journalist James Cooper

Raheem Sterling won’t be swapping Manchester City for Arsenal before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to James Cooper.
The England international has been linked with a potential switch to the north London club as Manchester City look to recruit Alexis Sanchez.
Sterling scored Manchester City’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Everton in their most recent home game at the Etihad Stadium last week.
The 22-year-old netted a dramatic winner in Manchester City’s 2-1 win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon before the winger was sent off.
Sterling moved to Manchester City in a £51m deal from Liverpool in the 2015 summer transfer window after impressing during his four seasons in the Reds team.
Sky Sports News reporter Cooper has ruled out Sterling moving to Arsenal from Manchester City before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
“Whatever happens with Alexis Sanchez, one thing is certain, Raheem Sterling is remaining in Manchester,” Cooper told Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning.
“Sources are telling us that he won’t be part of any deal used to prise Sanchez away from Arsenal.
“That echoes what sources were telling me yesterday, that Manchester City are interested in a cash-only bid, they’re not interested in throwing players in.
“The interest in Sterling was probably coming from an Arsenal end rather than a Manchester City end.”
Sterling scored seven goals and made six assists in 33 appearances in the Premier League last term during his first season at the Eastlands outfit.
The England international netted seven times and made seven goals for his team-mates in his final campaign as a Liverpool player in 2014-15.
Sterling will be suspended for Manchester City’s home clash against his former club Liverpool at The Etihad on Saturday 9 September.
