Arsenal working on huge deal to sign exciting 21-year-old forward – report
Arsenal are still working on a deal to sign Monaco forward Thomas Lemar in the summer transfer window, according to reports
Arsenal are still working hard to complete a deal to sign AS Monaco forward Thomas Lemar, according to reports in England.
Sky Sports, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the north London side are still hoping to complete a “mega-money” move to recruit Lemar.
The same article reveals that the Gunners have already failed with offers of £30m and £40m bids to strike a deal with the Ligue 1 champions.
The story goes on to reveal that the French side are holding out for a price in excess of £50m to sign the 21-year-old attacker.
Lemar scored 14 times in 55 appearances in all competitions last season to help Monaco to win the Ligue 1 title ahead of Paris Saint-Germain last term.
His club performances were enough to earn his first call-up to the France squad in November 2016 before going on to make a further four appearances for les Bleus.
Arsenal signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 in June.
The Gunners have also spent a club-record £52m fee on Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette last month.
The north London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.
