Insider confirms Chelsea, Liverpool still want to sign 24-year-old attacker
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol has confirmed that Chelsea and Liverpool are still looking to sign Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Chelsea and Liverpool are still interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, Kaveh Solhekol has claimed.
The England international’s future has been a source of speculation throughout the summer transfer window so far.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has failed to agree to a new contract with the north London side to spark talk of a potential summer exit.
The 24-year-old has already entered the final 12 months of his contract to throw up the possibility of Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving for nothing at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
Chelsea have been linked with a move to sign the Arsenal midfielder as Antonio Conte looks to improve his options following their Premier League title success last term.
Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested in signing the England international as Jurgen Klopp looks to secure his fourth deal of the summer.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has confirmed that Chelsea and Liverpool are both chasing Oxlade-Chamberlain despite Arsenal’s reluctance to sell.
“Another player who has just about a year left on his contract is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News on Thursday morning.
“We’ve been told that he’s having talks about his future with Arsenal this week. Chelsea and Liverpool want him but Arsenal still don’t want to sell.”
Chelsea have already signed four new players in the summer transfer window so far following their title success under Conte last term.
Liverpool have recruited AS Rom winger Mohamed Salah, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke and Hull City defender Andy Robertson.
