Chelsea make £73m bid in search of fifth summer signing – report
Chelsea have failed with another big-money bid to try and sign Alex Sandro from Juventus, say reports
Chelsea have had a £73m bid for Alex Sandro rejected by Juventus, according to reports in Italy.
Italian website Calciomercato, as quoted by the Daily Star is claiming that the west London side have failed with a huge bid to try and tempt the Brazilian full-back to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have long been linked with a move to sign Sandro this summer but the Blues have so far failed to be able to convince Juventus to part company with the defender.
The same report says that Juventus are keen to keep Sandro in Turin this summer having already lost both Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci.
The story reports that Chelsea have now had a total of three bids for Sandro turned down by the Serie A side, as Antonio Conte tries desperately to bolster his defensive options at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer, despite already having brought in four new players.
The Blues have landed Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata so far.
Chelsea are preparing to take on Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League game at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
