Chelsea, Man United encouraged to make bids to sign 24-year-old Ivorian – report
Chelsea and Manchester United have been given the green light to make bids to sign Serge Aurier from PSG, say reports
Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been encouraged to make bids to sign Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the French club have hinted that they would be willing to sell the 24-year-old defender in the summer transfer window if the price is right.
Aurier has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent days but Chelsea could also be interested in the Ivory Coast international if he becomes available, according to the story.
The same article says that Chelsea or Manchester United could be free to sign the right-back this summer after PSG decided to put him up for sale.
It remains to be seen whether either of the Premier League clubs will step up their interest in the player with a concrete bid, but it would seem that the option of signing the defender is now a realistic one.
Chelsea have signed four players so far this summer but are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as Antonio Conte prepares for his second season at the club.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are also thought to be keen on bolstering their squad further, despite completing three signings ahead of Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
