Chelsea are still interested in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal before the transfer deadline at the end of the month, according to Sky Sports News reporter Aidan Magee.
The Blues have been linked with a potential move to try and bring the 24-year-old midfielder to Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his squad before the close of the transfer window.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future at Arsenal has been a source of doubt in recent weeks, because the midfielder’s current contract is due to expire at the end of next season.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Magee has confirmed that Chelsea are still in the hunt to complete a deal to sign the midfielder before the close of the transfer window.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning, Magee said: “There is another potential departure at Arsenal.
“Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still a target for Chelsea, that’s according to Sky Sources.”
Chelsea are currently gearing up for their Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday as they look to return to winning ways in the the top flight.
The Blues suffered a surprise 3-2 loss to Burnley in their first top-flight game of the season on Saturday, as they were also reduced to nine men.
Chelsea have signed four players so far this summer, bringing in Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
