The Blues brought in the Real Madrid striker as their fourth summer signing last month as Antonio Conte moved to add some more fire-power to his squad at Stamford Bridge.
Morata’s arrival in west London comes after the relentless speculation linking Diego Costa with a transfer away from Chelsea this summer.
For, Costa remains at Chelsea but it is widely expected that he will leave the west London side before the start of next season.
Wenger believes that Morata will be a good addition for Chelsea but feels that the 24-year-old Spaniard is less of an out-and-out goal-scorer than Costa.
Wenger is quoted as saying by Metro: “They have replaced Costa with Morata – maybe less of a goalscorer than Costa but he can create more.”
Chelsea are getting ready to take on Arsenal in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday afternoon as the Blues look to win the first trophy on offer to them this season.
The west London side are also gearing up for a return to the Champions League next season after Conte led them to the Premier League title in his first campaign in charge last term.
