Chelsea ready to offer £120,000 a week deal to make fifth signing – report
Chelsea are ready to offer Danny Rose a big pay-rise to try and tempt him into a transfer from Tottenham
Chelsea are ready to offer Danny Rose a contract worth £120,000 a week to tempt him away from Tottenham this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Chelsea are prepared to double Rose’s wages but that the Blues are likely to struggle to convince Tottenham to sell the defender this summer.
The same report says that Tottenham are not expected to entertain any offers from Chelsea for the England international this summer.
Chelsea are on the lookout for further reinforcements this summer as Antonio Conte looks to prepare his squad for a return to the Champions League later this month.
The same article says that Chelsea have also had a bid for Danny Drinkwater turned down by Leicester City.
However, it is also claimed that the Blues will continue to negotiate about the possibility of signing Drinkwater from Leicester this summer.
Chelsea are preparing to take on Tottenham in their next Premier League game at Wembley on Sunday as they look to get back to winning ways.
Conte watched his side slump to a disastrous 3-2 loss to Burnley in Chelsea’s opening game of the season on Saturday as they had both Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas sent off.
