Arsene Wenger has told Alexis Sanchez that he will not be allowed to join Manchester City or Chelsea this summer if he leaves Arsenal, according to reports in the British media.

The Times is reporting that Sanchez has been informed that he will not be able to join one of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals should he secure an exit from The Emirates this summer.

The same report says that Sanchez is currently refusing to extend his contract at The Emirates beyond next summer.

However, it also claims that Wenger has told Sanchez that he will not be allowed to sign for another Premier League club this summer.

The same article, though, says that Wenger has not completely ruled out the possibility of selling Sanchez to a foreign club this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich both touted as possible destinations.

Sanchez’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer after both he and Mesut Ozil entered into the final 12 months of their contracts at The Emirates.

Arsenal are preparing to take on Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
