Antonio Conte sends message to Chelsea supporters about Alvaro Morata
The Chelsea manager wants Alvaro Morata to keep improving ahead of Sunday's clash against Tottenham
Antonio Conte has challenged Alvaro Morata to continue to work hard in training ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Blues signed Morata in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window after being linked with Romelu Lukaku.
Spain international Morata missed his spot-kick in Chelsea’s defeat by Arsenal on penalties in the Community Shield earlier this month.
The 24-year-old came off the bench to score his first Premier League and provide David Luiz with an assist in Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to Burnley last weekend.
Morata could start his first Premier League game on Sunday when Chelsea make the short trip to Wembley to take on title rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea boss Conte sent a message to his big-name summer signing ahead of their clash against Spurs.
“Morata also is another player who needs to continue to work and improve and find the right physical condition,” Conte told his pre-match media conference.
Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season to finish seven points clear of Sunday’s opponents Tottenham.
The Blues have also signed Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger and Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Chelsea have won the Premier League title two times in the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and Conte.
